Whoops

I often laugh at myself right after I tell Tatum to do something. Its like I forget sometimes that shes TWO. Commands like, "hold still!", and "Dont make a mess!" top the list as downright hilarious. Today I told Tatum to perform a similarly funny task. I set her up with flour on a baking sheet along with random kitchen tools (her own personal indoor sandbox right?) and told her seriously, "Keep the flour on the tray". RIGHT.

Dads and Grads

Congratulations to our brother-in-law Cody for graduating this weekend from Cal Poly! Him is reel smart. We are super proud of you Code Man! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you! We also had a fun little Fathers day-filled with presents, home made cards, BBQ and Angel Food. Here's a little pic that Tatum painted of Riley a few weeks back for his special day. (I painted the face part and she included the rest..even decided to add ears and eyebrows!) I thought it was pretty darn cute, and strikingly real to life! Thought you might get a kick out of it too. (Codys the one with the cap on)

Grant

Last night we were so excited to finally meet little Grant Hawkins (my cousin Erin's little 16 month old son), an event that has been due for a very long time. He was quite a riot! This kid was the funniest and most social little guy ever. I think he probably would have played peek a boo and performed animal sounds for us all night long if he was allowed.  Brady was pretty stoked too to finally have another boy around. Thanks Erin and Aunt Deb for coming all the way to CA! We absolutely adore your little man.

"BALL"

Of course our sons first word was Mama (I mean come on, like I would teach him anything else!). But then entered "Ball" into his vocab. Of course this made dad proud, but mom very troubled as he had seemed to drop his first (and most important!) word altogether. What is a mother to do? My son has dropped me with no remorse for a lousy piece of sports equipment. Of course I tried to explain to him that sure a ball is fun and all, in all of its bounciness and bright colors, but that they would come and go in life and never be able to offer him food, love or shelter as "MAMA" could. He didn't seem to care. Heres a little vid of his magic word.

Huh?

If I wasn't a local Id be pretty perplexed and downright confused by this weather. One day we are battling the Arctic blasts and the next we are sweating on the beach. Beanies and bikinis-interchangeable all summer long.

Daddy's Golf Course

Tonight we crashed in on the exclusive, one and only, Cypress point Club. AKA "Daddys golf course". We've been known from time to time to stop in here and meet up with Riley as he is finishing up with his last few holes. Tatum is absolutely in love with this place. Really I don't think that she could ask for anything more than a wide open expanse, covered with grass for running, and trees for climbing. This girl is no indoor girl that's for sure. We enjoyed our little stroll of course, but seriously, you would never have guessed that its June.
