Yard Projects
A good thing about doing it yourself is saving serious coinage. The bad part is that these projects are stinken hard work and take forever! These past few days Riley and I have started tackling our front and back yards. This picture was taken of Riley just minutes after he cursed the wood chips that the previous owners had left behind, and declared that if he ever became president of the United States, the first thing he would do is ban wood chips from our country. (Hey, first things first!) I would ban little tiny pebbles too if I were president. The second pic is a sketch that Riley had me draw up of "the plan" (Im not going to say that I didnt have fun doing it. I even pulled out Tatums colored pencils for some finishing touches!) We got a bit done, but at our rate, we've got a long way to go.

Evening Stroll (more like run) on Cypress
This place is breathtaking every time. Knotty Cypress trees, lush rolling fairways of perfectly cut grass, the roaring sea and sunset as a backdrop... They don't care though. They might as well be in some big field in kentucky. As long as they can RUN!

Tatum the Artist
"Spider Flower"
So literally overnight Tatum went from scribbling to drawing full on pictures! Today she was coloring in Cozy time (which often leads to nap time), and I returned to the room with her passed out next to her markers neatly put away and a nice pile of pictures. What I found was a very pleasant surprise. My tiny budding artist left me with a handful not of mere scribbles but of beautiful pictures that I could actually make out! I waited until she woke up for the interpretation. She had successfully drawn Me, Riley, Jesus and a Spider flower (?). Just beautiful. I cant tell you how excited this makes me. I am feeling many Mama/daughter art sessions commin on!

Back from Vegas Baby!
Ry took this pic of me thats actually a reflection in the window of me looking out over the city from a restaurant on the 64th floor of a swanky hotel (I thought it was pretty cool)
So we are back to the grind again after a sweet little trip to Las Vegas (just Riley and I-Ma and Papa so kindly watched the kiddos) for our 6 year Anniversary! We had such a blast with just the two of us. At first we really didnt know what the heck to do with ourselves, but by the second night we realized that we still remember how to party! Ha! While we were there we saw KA (a Cirque du Soleil show) Which was incredible, went to some great restaurants (including one that was probably the fanciest I have ever been to) did some shopping of course, sight seeing of course, a bit of gambling (I won 350 bucks the first night then ended up just losing it-but I broke even so its all good! Its just fun anyway) cruising around on our hotels man made beach and wave pool, and a lot of hopping around to shows/sights and just being together. Most of the pictures we got turned out pretty lame as they were taken on Rileys iphone, but It was a trip that will not be quickly erased from my memory anyway. Since we've been home we've been watching all the Oceans 11/12/13 movies (we own them of course) and reminiscing back on it all already! Great times though, and a pretty great husband too.
