APOLOGIES
Yes we are still alive over here. The truth of the matter is that our camera is broken, and up until a couple of days ago, we were computer less as well...hence the tough time writing any currrent blogs (unless I used Riley's iPhone which I can barely even lay hands on for more than a few seconds without him having a major panic attack- but understandably so I suppose since I do have a slight reputation for breaking electronics...like our camera!) But be of good courage our dear blog followers! We have sent the camera away for repairs, and recently heard word that its current location is in Sacramento. And our new computer is in and up and running. We will be back on our feet in no time. Thanks for checking in. Heres a little pick of our boy driving... for all you visual types.

ODE TO MY MOTHERS

by Bryna
Mothers mothers like no others
beautiful to me
One did birth me
One did Take me-into her family
First one taught me kindness, sharing
next one shared her son
first one loved me, always caring
next one called me hon
First one loving mother hen,
I'd fall down to be brushed off again
Next one loving mother hen
raising a man among the men
First one loved me when she saw me
Next one chose to too
First one held me, babe in arms
Next one held HIM new
First one told me to choose wisely
Next one showed me how
First one always there to talk to
Next one also there now
Looking at these mothers two,
That I saw made grandmothers
I thank the Lord for giving them
and giving me no others
Now that I, am mother too,
I take from them each day
I want to be just like them both,
in each their own, motherly way.
From first I take your gentleness,
your sayings and your stories
From next I take your sacrifice,
and empathetic worries
From first I take your cozy home
your safety, and memories past
From next I take your open home,
your acceptance, and name that is last.
Of course I say I take these things,
but only can I try,
to be the mother that you've been,
Ill strive until I die.
I love you, love you, old and new,
a love that never fades
I take you both around with me
for your grand kids that I raise
I wish someday when looking back
that they will truly know,
its okay to be your mother!
and they'll see YOU inside their own.
Thanks for being you our dear mothers! Happy Mothers day from all of us!

Happy Birthday Riley!
The other day Riley and I, along with the kids, busted out again, for the second time, the little mermaid slip and slide. Tatum was a little hesitant, since the sunny weather was borderline hot/cold, I preferred to stay comfortably warm on my towel in the sun (even after being called a party pooper numerous times), and Brady seemed content to watch the scene unfold. The scene? The scene was a scene that was called "Daddy". Riley filled that slide up to the brim with water, turned it on full blast, and was diving down that thing like a third grader visiting Raging Waters for the first time. As I sat there on my nice warm towel I heard myself saying things like "Tatum go play with Daddy, he needs a friend"..and, "Honey you are so close to crashing your head right into those rocks!"..then I heard the question, directed I think towards me-"Hey you know how I can get this thing to go even faster?"..."Soap?" I responded reluctantly. "Nope"..and the next thing I knew I was gazing up at a vision I will never forget. I could barely make it out. It was more like a blur, it was going so fast. But I think, yes, yes, it was what I thought. Rileys bare butt sliding at an inhuman speed down our little mermaid slip n slide. Accompanying the sight was a long "WHHHOOOOO HHOOOO!" and then a crash. Im happy to inform you that hes okay. Im not sure if our little Mermaid Slip and Slide will ever fully recover (and Chrisina, you might not want to let your girls slide on it ever again) but we are glad that Riley is Ok at least. Today is my dear husbands birthday. If you know him, Im sure you can picture this scene perfectly (at least the parts you want to!) and chances are, that you probably love him. You probably also know, why I love him. This story, weirdly, just happens to be one of the many reasons why I do. Riley, Thank you for being the perfect husband (perfect for ME at least), an incredible dad, and such an amazing person. AND thank you for making me laugh over and over again. I love you more than words can explain. Happy Birthday.

BIG SUR
In celebration of me getting my new baby carrier in the mail, we headed out on a nice little hike to put the thing to some use. Brady happened to love it, as he was dead asleep by the end of our little adventure-and Tatum, well she pretty much loves anything that combines fresh air and family. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the views breathtaking. We will be back here real soon.

Lunch
My husbands job is ridiculous, I have to say. My conclusion has been, over the past two years that he has been at Cypress Point Club, as I have tried to figure out exactly what he does all day-has been, that basically he gets paid to play golf, sip "Sams Specials" (sounds fancy whatever they are), and socialize. I'm pretty sure that covers it. Oh, and he eats gourmet meals every day for lunch (and breakfast) that make my dinners seem like Happy Meals in a drive though. Even on our 5 year anniversary recently, as we were out to dinner, I was prompting him to order the fillet Mignon-his response? "No, Im kinda sick of fillets." What? He is spoiled rotten to say the least. Yesterday, as I was finally able to sit down with my lunch at 3:30 to check my e mail, I noticed that my husband had sent me a loving little note describing his day-and his lunch.(how sweet) he even had the kindness in his heart to send me a picture of his lunch (of course taken promptly at 12pm.) I opened up the e mail to find this
later I found out it was bacon wrapped fillet, with some fancy salad, salmon and mango salsa, and a nice little fruit cup. As I sat there, glaring at the picture, I glanced down at my own lunch, sitting on my bleach spotted sweat pants from cleaning all afternoon. Maybe he'd be curious to see what I was eating for lunch (at 3:30)-so, I sent it along.
A leftover apple from Tatums lunch at noon (hence the browning spots) and almonds. There is something terribly, terribly wrong in this world.

Every Day
I really cant believe that my main job in life is to hang out with these guys all day every day. They really are two of the coolest people Ive ever met (of course they just so happen to be miniature and not so smart yet so the 'hanging out' can be a bit more challenging at times) But seriously, getting to do this every day? Sometimes I feel like Im getting away with something. Like today-we are at the park. Sun is shining. Kids are laughing. Nowhere to go. Nothing to do. But play. Soak in the sun. Eat a PBJ. And come back tomorrow if we want to. Or not. Whatever. Seriously, who else has this schedule?
